Venice loves to put on a shw, and they do a great job of it in February for Carnevale. They are remembering Venice in the 1800's with some modern creativity thrown in. Of course it is a feast for the eyes, and a bit tricky to get there between St Marks square flooding and below freezing temperatures. Face painting is a big part of the celebration, as are parades down the canals, in St Marks square, the special treats have to be included in my lsit of favorites.
