We are enjoying this time of year, teaching lessons, visiting with members, and learning some new skills. We loved watching conference, even if the times were a a challenge. It was amazingly inspiring to watch with a newly baptized member and an investigator watching for their first sessions of conference. Their first view of the prophet and the church leadership. One of our investigators said he had never seen such a well organized church and can't wait to visit there. He and his wife asked us for DVD's of past conferences. The young Elders are teaching him in Italian, and said he and his wife were watching when they went by. We are teaching her in English, and she is remarkably open to everything we have shared with her. They only speak together in their Ghanian dialect, but came to the chapel at 6 pm Sunday to watch conference live. It shows in Italian on the main floor and English upstairs. She told us her spirit needed food, so she prayed to God and found the missionaries. It is very exciting to teach her, and know that we are helping her understand God's love for her, and how she can feel that love daily.

Our new member of one week, Danny asked today how he can get on the schedule to participate in the sacrament preparation Sunday. He is learning the prayers so he knows them, and looking forward to baptizing his son next month. The Smith's in our ward are teaching Charlie, his son the gospel in Spanish, but his parents clarify and end up teaching almost as much. So with six adults to lead him, eight year old Charlie os coming along just fine.

We are also teaching Brady from a less active family. He is 10 years old and hoping his father can baptize him this month. We only get 12 minutes to teach him each week, but when we return the next week, he remembers all we taught the week before. Concepts like spirit children, physical bodies, Celestial kingdom, accountability for our choices are all apart of his vocabulary now. At the elementary school today, as we were volunteering in the library, he came up for a hug. Good kid, that Brady. We hope his family can support him in his commitment.
